The Masters of the Universe franchise was very popular during the eighties. There is a legend that says that the toyline was initially thought to be action figures of Conan the Barbarian. After the release of the Conan live action movie, Mattel thought that was very violent for kids and readapted the toys with new names. The Masters of the Universe creators deny this story.
