One of the most successful music styles of the eighties was the hard rock. Many bands, specially in L.A., wanted to look and sound like Aerosmith, Van Halen or Mötley Crüe. Most of these bands released only an album or two before the grunge shock wave brought them to the oblivion.

During the good days some bands starred ads in comic books such as this one of the BulletBoys debut album. Both album singles became very popular: the first one, named in this ad, “Smooth up in Ya” and the O’Jays cover “For the Love of Money”.
